Precise inline color measuring system

colorCONTROL ACS7000

colorCONTROL ACS7000 from MICRO-EPSILON Optronic is one of the most advanced inline color measuring systems in the world. Compared to conventional technologies our color measuring system does not only recognizes reference colors by comparison but also identifies individual colors clearly from their coordinates in the color space. Due to its very high measurement speed the colorCONTROL ACS7000 is suitable for applications, where colors and shades have to be examined in real time during production processes. Due to the extremely high measurement accuracy, the system is also applied in laboratories, e.g. in industrial R&D.

Measuring principle

The measured object (color sample) is illuminated or penetrated with the light from a controllable white LED as a light source. The light reflected or transmitted by the color sample is fed to a spectrometer. The controller compares and corrects the measrured spectrum with the stored spectrum, a bright and a dark reference as well as a white balance.

Afterwards, the color coordinates for selectable color spaces such as XYZ, RGB, L*a*b, L*u*v, L*C*h, Lab99 and LCh99 are being calculated. Finally the system compares the measured values with the stored reference colors and outputs the result.

The colorCONTROL ACS7000 non-contact color measuring system operates according to the spectrometric method. A color is unambiguously identified by its reflection or transmission spectrum.
There are different measuring heads based on 3 basic models: measurement heads with 30° or 45° tilt of the receiver optics, measuring heads with 30° and 45° tilt of the sender optics and transmission measuring head systems. Optionally the receiver side of the latter can also be used without light source in order to measure self-luminous objects.
